Drawings show emotions, feelings and wishes of many kids who dream life on Mars just like on the Earth. They don't know how the "Red Planet" is, but they aren't scared about that. Mars is figured like a wonderful place where everybody can joyfully meet other people. Due to this reason, kids draw men, galaxies, starship and rockets using sparkling and vibrant colours. <a href="https://ladybugfrc.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LadyBug FRC Takımı</a> ve <a href="https://www.losev.org.tr/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LÖSEV</a>–<a href="https://www.losante.com.tr/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LÖSANTE</a> Çocuk ve Yetişkin Hastanesi ile birlikte planladığımız “<a href="https://marsonearthproject.org/losemili-minik-yildizlarla-uzaya-yolculuk/">Lösemili Minik Yıldızlarla Uzaya Yolculuk: Resmin Uzaya Çıksın!</a>” çalışmasını 2-3 Mart 2023 tarihinde başarıyla tamamladık. Resimler etkinliğin ikinci gününde ise tekrar yayınlandı, uyduya yayınlama yaklaşık olarak 3 saat sürdü ve öngörülen zaman penceresinde bitirildi.

Uydu gönderilen resimler, aynı anda otomatik olarak yeniden Dünyaya yayınladı. Finlandiya ve Almanya'daki operatörlerimiz resimleri KG-STV formatında gönderirken, Türkiye'deki operatörümüz ise High Speed Multi Media (HS-Modem) ile gönderim yaptı.

Resimler daha önce de çalışmalarımıza destek vere ve İtalya'nın Güney Sandinya adasında bulunan <a href="http://websdr.is0grb.it:8901/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IS0GRB</a> çağrı işaretli Roberto Abis isimli amatör telsiz operatörünün canlı olarak yayınladığı WebSDR sayfasında da yayınlanarak arşivlendi.

Türkiye ve yurtdışından amatör telsizciler tarafından alınan resimler bir form aracılığı ile MOEP'e ulaştırıldı. Etkinliğe katılan tüm çocuklara ve destek veren tüm amatör telsiz operatörlerine e-sertifikaları da aynı gün ulaştırıldı.
Amatör telsizcilerin aynı form aracılığı ile göndermiş oldukları iyi dilek içeren tüm mesajları ve MoEP istasyon operatörlerinin çalışma odalarından gönderdikleri videolu mesajlar da LÖSEV–LÖSANTE Çocuk ve Yetişkin Hastanesi yetkilileri ve LadyBug FRC takımı ile paylaşıldı.

Farklı şehirlerde de olsak da sizlerin hayallerine dokunabilmek veya bir hayalinizin gerçekleştirilmesine aracı olmak bizlerin en büyük mutluluk kaynağı olduğunu bilmenizi isteriz.
Bizler MoEP ailesi olarak dünyanın neresinde olursa olsun, bir çocuğun ağlamasını da, mutluğunu da aynı derecede kalbimizde hissedebiliyoruz. Diliyoruz ki çocuklar hep gülsün ve dünya güzelleşsin. Çünkü hayatı bizlere güzel yapan ve yaşanabilir kılan sizin tek bir tebessümünüzdür.
Yeryüzünde tıbbı tedavi ile birlikte sevginin iyileştiremeyeceği bir şey olmadığına inanıyoruz. Bu nedenle hastanelerde tedavi gören tüm çocuklarımızı sevgiyle kucaklıyor ve sizlerin ve değerli ailelerinizin mücadelesini gönülden destekliyoruz.

Lösemili Minik Yıldızlarla Uzaya Yolculuk: Resmin Uzaya Çıksın! Aktivite Raporu

"İnsan ne ile yaşar?" diye soruyor yazar… Peki biz ne cevap verebiliyoruz buna? Durup bir düşünün. Kablolarla mı? İnternetle mi? Elektrikle mi? Telsizlerle mi? Radyo dalgaları ile mi? Biliyorum bu yazıyı okuduktan sonra "yok artık" diyeceksiniz.
Bildiğiniz gibi su, insanın ve bütün canlıların yaşam kaynağıdır ancak tek başına yeterli değildir. Örneğin; içine bir kaç malzeme ekleyip, çorba olmazsa karnımız doymaz. Güvercinler su ile yaşayamaz, kediler sadece su içerek beslenemez.
Biliyorum, aklınızdan ilk anda bitkiler geçiyor. Diyeceksiniz ki "bitkilere su yeter". Onlar fotosentez yaparak güneşten aldıkları enerjiyi besine çevirerek dünyanın ilkin üreticileri konumuna yükselir ve zirvede yerlerini alırlar. Ama o kadar da kolay değil, bitkilerin de ihtiyaçları vardır ve onlara da sadece su ve güneş yetmez.
Ayakta durmak ve suyu daha iyi muhafaza etmek için daha fazla maddeye ihtiyaç duyarlar. Şimdi gelelim asıl meseleye. Suyun önemini ve kıymetini herkes biliyor, peki sonrasında ne gerekli?
Toprak ya da protein?
Tabi ki hiç biri değil, azota ihtiyaç var. <a href="https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azot" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Azot</a> bitkileri büyütür ve hayvanlar artıklarını atarak bu azot teşekkülünü sağlarlar. Bu da dünyanın su döngüsünde yağmurlar ve rüzgârlar kadar önemli bir döngüdür.
Bu döngüyü kısaca şöyle açıklayalım. Öncelikle bütün canlılar temel ihtiyaç olarak güneşten gelen enerjiyi besine çevirmek isterler ancak bu görev bitkiye yüklenmiştir. Bitkiler bunu sağlarlar ama daha karmaşık yapılı bitkilerin bir alanda yaşayabilmesi için de azot gereklidir. Bu azot, bitkilerin ve hayvan ölülerinden ve hayvanların dışkılarından sağlanır.
Azot doğrudan bitki tarafından alınamaz. Onun için araya bir kaç basamak daha eklenir. Yaratıcımız bu basamakları birbirine öyle bir bağlamıştır ki; aradan bir basamak eksilse ve kıymeti bilinmezse bütün basamak çöker ve canlılık yok olur.
İşte doğaya bırakılan azot dolu dışkıyı toprağa geçiren ve bitkinin onu alabilmesini sağlayan canlılar da yazının konusu olan bok böcekleridir.
Bitkiler azotu fazla alırlarsa ve fazla maruz kalırlarsa yaşama tutunamaz ve ölürler. Bok böcekleri, tek bir noktada olan ve bitkinin ölmesine neden olacak miktarda bir arada bulunan dışkıyı alır, toprakta delikler kazarak onları top haline getirerek çukurlara gömmektedirler. Bir grup bok böceği ise dışkı içine havalandırma kanalları açıp, dışkının yanarak azotun bitki ve canlılar için kullanılabilir hale gelmesini sağlar. Bir gurup bok böceği de hemen dışkı altına yuvasını açar ve burada toprakla dışkıyı karıştırırlar.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Peki bu küçük böcekler olmazsa ne olur?</h3>
Bazen görüp tiksindiğiniz, bazen de görür görmez öldürmek istediğiniz bok böcekleri, aslında insanların yapmayacağı kadar pis işleri adeta bizim için yaparak dünyamızı pislikten kokuşmuş bir dünyadan verimli bir tarlaya çevirirler.
Einstein'ın; sadece arıları örneklendirmesinin tek nedeni, insanlara arıların sevimli gelmeleriydi. Eğer anlatabilseydi bokböceklerinin faydaları ile ilgili de bir kitap yazardı. Başka bir örnek vermek gerekirse; örneğin bu böcekler, ortamdaki dışkıyı hızlı bir şekilde toprakla karıştırıp bertaraf ettikleri için, sineklerin üremesini ve zararlı organizmaların dünyaya yayılmasını da önlerler.

 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Bir yerde bok böceği az ise, orada pislik ve kokuşma artar,</li>
 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Parazitler ve hastalılar ortama daha rahat yayılır,</li>
 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Bir yerde bokböcekleri az ise, toprağın verimi düşer,</li>
 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Bitkiler azotu gerektiği şekilde alamazlar,</li>
 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Azot-bakteri yüzey alanı dar olması nedeni ile bitki için gereken şekle azotu bölemezler,</li>
 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Bok böcekleri olmazsa, dışkıyı bütün etçil hayvanların tüketeceği protein şekline çevirecek hayvan kalmaz.</li>
</ul>
Kısacası eğer bir gün bok böcekleri yok olacak olsa, dünya da tam anlamıyla bir sefalet başlar. En fazla 3 yıl içinde bütün yüksek yapılı bitkiler birer birer yok olmaya başlar sadece bataklık bitkileri hayatlarını sürdürebilir.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Şimdi diyorsunuz ki; "bir Mars araştırma grubunda ne işi var bu bok böceklerinin?"</h3>
Onu da şöyle açıklayalım. İnsanlı bir Mars görevinde Mars'a gittiğimizi ve tarım için uygun toprak şartlarını sağladığımızı, suyu da dünyadan götürdüğümüzü varsayalım. Patates de olsun. Ama bitkinin büyümesi için azot, hala gereken şekilde değil.

Marslı filminde gördüğünüz o sahneyi hatırlayın. Tabi ki film bir kurgudan ibaret ancak insan dışkısının sadece toprakla karıştırılıp verimli azot eldesi çok çok zaman alacaktır.
Hatta öyle ki; Dünyadan azot bakterisi ve bok böceği gitmedikçe azotu verimli hale getirerek ilk tohumu yetiştirmemiz mümkün olmayacaktır. Muhtemelen ilk birkaç nesil bok böceğimiz mineral yoğunluğundan ölecektir. Ancak sonraki nesiller azot bakterileri ile Mars'ı tarlalara çevirmemizi sağlayacaklar ve sürekli çalışarak verimi arttıracaklardır.
Bu verim artışı birçok bilimsel makale ile kanıtlanmış olup, Amerika gibi bir çok ülke bok böceklerini ülkeye ekonomik katkılarının milyonlarca dolara eşdeğer olduğunu hesaplamışlardır.
Uzun lafın kısası, kainatta her canlının bir görevi vardır ve insan bu dengeleri bozmadan yaşamını sürdürmek zorundadır. Bozduğu her denge ile insanlık kendinden ve yaşama kalitesinden bir tuğla daha kaybedecektir.
Dünyada ve uzayda o kadar aciziz ve o kadar çok maddeye ihtiyacımız var ki, bir bitki kadar bile kendimize yetemiyoruz. Bir bok böceğinin yaptığı kadar çevremize katkıda bulunamıyoruz.

Geçmiş dönemlerde eski Mısır medeniyetleri de bunu görmüşler ve dünyayı bok böceklerinin döndürdüğüne inanmışlardı.  Sağlık ve mutlulukla kalın.

Bok Böcekleri ve Hayat

Günəş sistemində Günəşə yaxınlığına görə dördüncü planet olan Mars eyni zamanda kiçikliyinə görə Merkuridən sonra ikinci planetdir. Adını Roma mifologiyasının müharibə tanrısından almışdır. Hamımızın tanıdığı “qırmızı planet” olan Mars səthində dəmir-oksidin geniş yayılmasına görə həmişə qırmızı rəngini qoruyub saxlayır.

Həmçinin Mars Günəş sistemində bilinən ən hündür ikinci (planetdə ən hündür birinci) dağ – Olimp dağının və ən böyük kanyonlarından biri olan Valles Marinerisin olduğu planerdir. Planetin kiçik və nizamsız formalaşmış iki peyki mövcuddur: Fobos və Deymos. Mars çılpaq gözlə Yerdən görünür. Onun görünmə böyüklüyü −3.0-ə çatır və yalnız Yupiter, Venera, Ay və Günəş bu qiyməti keçir. Optik yerüstü teleskoplar Yerin atmosferinə görə Yerin və Marsın ən yaxın olduğu zaman 300 kilometr uzaqlıqdakı cəhətləri göstərə bilir.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Marsın Elementar (Kimyəvi Tərkibi)</h3>
Mars terrestrial planet olaraq digər planetlərdən fərqlənir. Yerə bənzərliyi cəhətdən Marsın da nisbətən zəif sıxlıqlı dəmir (Fe) və nikeldən (Ni) təşkil olunmuş nüvəsi, silikat mantiyası və yer qabığı var. Yer kimi, Marsın da maye halında olan bir dəmir tərkibli daxili nüvəsi və nisbətən az maye halında olan xarici nüvəsi var. Ancaq mantiyada konveksiya görünmür.
Hal -hazırda Mars çox az geoloji aktivlik göstərir. Elementar tərkibinə görə Mars Yerdən bir çox kimyəvi elementlərə görə fərqlənir.
Mars haqqında ilkin məlumat kimi yuxarıda da dediyimiz kimi, torpağının tərkibində dəmir – oksidin olmasına görə qırmızı rəngə çalır;

 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Marsın nüvəsi kükürdlə zəngindir;</li>
 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Marsın mantiyası Yerə nisbətən <a href="https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potasyum" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kalium</a> (K) və <a href="https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fosfor" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Fosfor</a>la (P) zəngindir;</li>
 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Marsın qabığı yüksək miqdarda buxarlanan (uçucu) elementlərlə, kükürd, xlorin və s. ilə zəngindir.</li>
 	<li style="text-align: justify;">Bu məlumatlara əsaslanaraq, elm adamları Mars qabığında ən çox olan kimyəvi elementlərin kükürd, oksigen, dəmir, alüminium, kalsium və kalium olduğunu fikirləşirlər. Bu elementlər maqmatik süxurlardan ibarət olan mineralların əsas komponentləridir. Digər elementlər isə; Titan, xrom, manqan, kükürd, fosfor, natrium və xlor elementləri azlıq təşkil edirlər. Buna baxmayaraq, süxurlardakı bir çox köməkçi mineralların əsas komponentləridirlər.</li>

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Marsın Mineralogiyası</h3>
Hal -hazırda orbitdə olan spektrometrlərə THEMIS (<a href="https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_Mars_Odyssey" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mars Odyssey</a>), OMEGA (<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Express" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mars Express</a>) və CRISM (<a href="https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Reconnaissance_Orbiter" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter</a>) daxildir. İki Mars tədqiqat gəmisinin hər biri səthdəki mineralları müəyyən etmək üçün Alfa Hissəcikli X-Ray Spektrometrini (APXS), termal emissiya spektrometrini (Mini-TES) və Mössbauer spektrometrini daşıyır.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Marsın Atmosferi</h3>
Mars atmosferi, Marsı əhatə edən qazlar təbəqəsidir. Əsasən karbon qazından (95%), molekulyar azotdan (2.8%) və argondan (2%) ibarətdir. Tərkibində su buxarı, oksigen, karbonmonoksit, hidrogen və nəcib qazlar da var.

Orta səth təzyiqi cəmi 610 paskal (0.088 psi) təşkil edir ki, bu da Yerin dəyərinin 1% -dən azdır. Hazırda incə Mars atmosferi Mars səthində maye suyun olmasını qadağan edir, lakin bir çox araşdırmalar Mars atmosferinin keçmişdə daha qalın olduğunu göstərir.
Marsdakı ən yüksək atmosfer sıxlığı Yer səthindən 35 km yüksəklikdə olan sıxlığa bərabərdir və ~ 0.020 kq/m3 -dir. Marsın atmosferi, planetin yarandığı gündən kosmosda kütləsini itirir və qaz sızması bu gün də davam edir.

Mars Planeti Haqqında Ümumi Məlumat

Probablemente has escuchado sobre los planetas que forman el sistema solar y particularmente de Marte, un planeta que ha estado presente en el mundo de la ciencia ficción desde sus inicios. Pero, ¿Alguna vez te has preguntado qué tan parecidos son la Tierra y Marte?
¿Qué diferencias existen entre ellos? Si bien existen algunas similitudes como algunos minerales o rocas en común; estos planetas tienen diferencias significativas que han generado una historia geológica evolutiva completamente diferente.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">1. ¡Comparando tamaños!</h3>
En primer lugar, hablaremos sobre las diferencias más evidentes entre la Tierra y Marte. El tamaño de Marte y su masa son significativamente menores con respecto a la tierra (Figura 1).
Marte tiene la mitad del tamaño de la Tierra y tiene una masa que corresponde al 11% de la masa terrestre. Esto a su vez genera una disminución en la gravedad en la superficie de Marte. Otra de las diferencias más relevantes es la distancia al sol.
Marte, se ubica a una distancia de 1.5 Unidades Astronómicas (UA) del sol, mientras la Tierra se ubica a una distancia de 1 UA. Además, su atmósfera, que es 100 veces menos densa que la terrestre, está compuesta principalmente por dióxido de Carbono (95%), Nitrógeno y Argón.
La distancia al sol y la composición de la atmósfera marciana son la razón de las bajas temperaturas en Marte (la temperatura oscila entre  -140 °C y 30 °C normalmente). Como la atmósfera es demasiado tenue, la pérdida de calor recibido del sol es acelerada.

<h3>2. ¡La geología es la clave!</h3>
En segundo lugar, es necesario considerar las diferencias en cuanto a la evolución geológica de los dos planetas, que se derivan de las diferencias físicas entre ellos.
Como se aclaró en el apartado anterior, las atmósferas de los dos planetas actualmente tienen composiciones y densidades muy diferentes.
Pero, ¿Esto siempre fue así?
De acuerdo a algunos autores, las atmósferas de los planetas eran similares en un principio, al momento de la formación planetaria.
Sin embargo, la baja gravedad de Marte y la ausencia de un campo magnético fuerte le impidió conservar su atmósfera. Esta situación fue particularmente crítica durante la formación del sistema solar, pues la intensidad de las colisiones entre cuerpos planetarios era elevada.
Además, el viento solar producto de la actividad interna del sol también tiene un efecto importante en la remoción de la atmósfera marciana. Por otro lado, la tectónica de placas también marca una diferencia importante entre estos planetas.
Si bien todavía existen dudas sobre la existencia o no de placas en la superficie de Marte, durante años la hipótesis que más se ha apoyado es la ausencia de estos procesos tectónicos.
Como consecuencia, en Marte, sería imposible el desarrollo de ciclos biogeoquímicos para el intercambio químico entre atmósfera, superficie y vida.

<h3>3. ¿Diferencias geológicas, diferentes rocas?</h3>
Estas diferencias de la evolución geológica han generado diferencias notorias en las rocas que predominan sobre la superficie de Marte.
En la Tierra, las rocas son altamente variadas debido a la gran cantidad de procesos geológicos que existen. Por el contrario, en Marte las rocas son más homogéneas y en su mayoría corresponden a rocas de características basálticas en el caso de las ígneas, es decir rocas con un alto contenido de minerales máficos.
Estas rocas también existen en la Tierra y son comunes en el fondo oceánico, en donde el magma (la lava fundida) no ha sufrido tantos procesos de diferenciación.
Así mismo, las rocas de características sedimentarias presentes en Marte obedecen a areniscas, conglomerados y lodolitas (principalmente) que se han depositado con la ayuda de agentes de transporte como el aire y presuntamente el agua líquida que alguna vez se movió sobre la superficie de Marte.

Estas rocas son la principal evidencia que existe de la presencia de agua sobre la superficie en Marte, que generó depósitos de rocas sedimentarias con estructuras sedimentarias que también se pueden observar en la tierra. (Figura 3).

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">¿Y la vida?</h3>
Finalmente, podemos mencionar la diferencia más clara entre Marte y la Tierra. La presencia de vida como la conocemos.
Si bien existen diferentes ideas sobre la presencia o no de vida en la superficie de Marte en el pasado, cuando sus condiciones eran más aptas para la vida; es claro que no se desarrolló al nivel de la vida en la Tierra.
Con esto podemos concluir que, si bien existen similitudes entre estos planetas, pequeñas características han generado diferencias abismales en la historia evolutiva geológica entre la Tierra y Marte.
Y que como consecuencia de estas diferencias, las condiciones más favorables para el desarrollo de la vida se dieron aquí, en la Tierra. Gracias a estas diferencias tu y yo podemos decir que somos terrícolas y no marcianos!

Encuentra las 10 diferencias: Marte vs. Tierra

Scientists have been in pursuit of finding habitable planets for years. The Goldilocks zone is a theoretical region around a star where the temperature conditions for the existence of liquid water are suitable. This term was coined by the Chinese astrophysicist Su-Shu Huang in 1959.
Liquid water is a fundamental factor for life based on carbon as we know it. This region is defined as the area where life can be potentially sustained due to the existence of liquid water.
Planets existing in the Goldilocks zone’s outer line remain frozen just like Mars. Planets existing in the inner line of the Goldilocks zone remain in evaporating oceans just like <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Venus</a>. Planets in the middle of the zone include suitable conditions for liquid water to exist just like Earth.
However, as research has shown, the presence of water on a planet does not definitively constitute evidence for life. This term has evolved over the years, revealing that there are other different determinants of life.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Etymology of the Name Goldilocks</h3>
The Habitable zone is sometimes referred to as a goldilocks zone. The name “Goldilocks” derives from the English fairy tale “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” The story was first published anonymously in 1837.
In Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Goldilocks finds three alternatives. They are porridge, chairs, and beds. Two of them are too much (too hard or too soft), but one is just right. The concept of Goldilocks has been adapted to research on habitable planets based on this story

<ul style="text-align: justify;">
 	<li>Too Close and Too Hot: Planets that are very close to their stars will have higher temperatures. High temperatures make it impossible for them to contain liquid water. Venus and mercury can be given as examples of this.</li>
 	<li>Too Distant and Too Cold: Planets that are very far from their stars will be colder. Low temperatures will cause any water to freeze. This could make it impossible to find liquid water, as observed on Mars.</li>
 	<li>Just Right: The planets in the middle are in the right zone for liquid water to exist, which will have the temperature of that Goldilocks Zone. The world can be given as an example of this.</li>
</ul>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Location of the Goldilocks Zone</h3>
The location of the Goldilocks zone around a star depends on the type of star, and its size. The Goldilocks zone around a star is determined through a series of calculations that use our Sun’s physical properties as a constant value for comparison. Then the star’s absolute luminosity, which is related to the star’s absolute magnitude, is calculated.

The types of stars are divided into F, G, K, and M, respectively. F-type stars become brighter and hotter, while M-type stars become smaller and colder. The Sun is a G-type star. It will be possible for bigger and hotter stars to support life in more distant regions.
The Goldilocks zone is defined by an inner and outer boundary. A runaway greenhouse effect similar to that observed on Venus is observed at the inner boundary.
At this distance, the water reservoir boils, and hydrogen and oxygen decompose. Hydrogen is lost in space, while oxygen combines with rocks to form oxidized compounds.
The outer limit of the habitable zone is determined by the distance at which the greenhouse effect is insufficient to sustain liquid water and the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_dioxide" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">CO2</a> in the atmosphere begins to condense.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Planets in the Goldilocks Zone</h3>
Mercury in our solar system is too hot to support life, while Venus and Mars are located at the boundaries of the Goldilocks zone. The Goldilocks zone also includes the ones known as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler-22b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kepler-22b</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler-62e" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kepler-62e</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler-62f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kepler-62f</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler-69c" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kepler-69c</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler-61b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kepler-61b</a>, and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler-47c" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Kepler-47c</a>.
Venus, Earth, and Mars all orbit within the sun's habitable zone. It is thought that there were once liquid water and oceans on Venus. It is also thought that a runaway greenhouse effect has destroyed the oceans located on Venus.
Venus' runaway greenhouse atmosphere makes the planet even hotter than <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_(planet)" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Mercury</a>, which is much closer to the sun. That atmosphere eliminates the possibility of life on the planet's surface.

Even though the research is ongoing as to whether there is liquid water on the surface of Mars, it is proven that glaciers exists. With average temperatures around -65°C (-85°F), Mars is a cold planet. At these low temperatures, water is more likely to exist as ice.
Polar caps of Mars are made up of water ice and dry ice which is carbon dioxide in frozen state. The northern polar cap, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planum_Boreum" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Planum Boreum</a>, consists mainly of water ice. The southern polar cap called <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planum_Australe" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Planum Australe</a> also has significant quantities of water ice but covered by a layer of dry ice.
Many regions on Mars contain permafrost, a mixture of ice and soil. The presence of permafrost suggests that water ice is stable in these areas just below the surface.

In our solar system, the Earth is clearly in the Goldilocks zone with much of its surface covered by liquid water. Venus is too hot, Mars is too cold, and Earth is just right.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Major Constituents of Terrestrial Planetary Atmospheres</h3>
Water vapor (H₂O) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) are regarded as greenhouse gases. The greenhouse effect is a natural process causing a much warmer surface of planets.

<ul style="text-align: justify;">
 	<li>The atmosphere of Earth consists of 78% nitrogen (N₂), 21% oxygen (O₂), 0.93% argon (Ar), 0.04% carbon dioxide (CO₂), and a trace amount of (H₂O).</li>
 	<li>Venus has a thick and dense atmosphere. The atmosphere of Venus consists of 96.5% carbon dioxide (CO₂), and 3.5% nitrogen (N₂). In addition, it contains trace amounts of argon and water vapor (H₂O). Due to the existence of large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO₂), Venus is exposed to the greenhouse effect. This effect raises the surface temperature of Venus to around 867°F (464°C).</li>
 	<li>Mars has a thin atmosphere. The pressure in Mars’ atmosphere is less than Earth’s. The atmosphere of Mars consists of 95.3% carbon dioxide (CO₂), 2.7% nitrogen (N₂), 1.6% argon (Ar), and 0.13% oxygen (O₂). The main greenhouse gas is CO₂. However, low atmospheric density causes a weak greenhouse effect.</li>

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Surface Temperatures of Planets</h3>
Distance from the its star is main factor for planetary surface temperatures. Planets tend to get colder the farther a planet is from the Sun. Apart from the distance from its stars, various factors such as its surface albedo, and the greenhouse effect have an impact on the average temperature of planets.
Albedo refers to how much sunlight a planet reflects. Planets with high albedo are expected to have cooler temperatures. Earth with its white clouds can reflect more sunlight, causing cooler temperatures.
Planets with low albedo are expected to be hotter. Mercury with its dark rock surface absorb more sunlight, causing hotter surface.
Calculating a rough estimate of the planet's effective temperature (Te) can provide information about the actual surface temperature (Ts) and the existence of liquid water. The effective temperature (Te) can be calculated with this formula:

Where:

 	<li>S represents the amount of solar energy received by the planet per unit area.</li>
 	<li>A is the planet's albedo. This value is in between 0 and 1.</li>
 	<li>σ is the Stefan Boltzmann constant.</li>
</ul>
In order to find the actual surface temperature (T s), the greenhouse effect must be considered.

This formula essentially calculate the balance between incoming solar radiation and incoming solar radiation. Assuming the planets acts like a perfect blackbody, the estimate temperature of planets are:

<ul style="text-align: justify;">
 	<li>Venus: 867°F (464°C)</li>
 	<li>Earth: 59°F (15°C)</li>
 	<li>Mars: -85°F (-65°C)</li>
</ul>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Photosynthetic Habitable Zone</h3>
A photosynthetic habitable zone (PHZ) is a modification of the traditional concept of habitable zones (HZ). This new idea was named by Cassandra Hall in 2023.
This idea considers not only the presence of liquid water but also the availability of proper light for oxygenic photosynthesis. This approach recognizes that liquid water alone is not sufficient for complex life. Besides liquid water, the availability of appropriate light for photosynthesis is also crucial.
This process ranges from 400 to 700nm in wavelength and uses sunlight’s energy; it has been responsible for producing oxygen on earth enabling complex life forms.
<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photosynthetically_active_radiation" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">PAR</a> (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) refers to the range of light wavelengths (400 to 700nm). Photosynthetic organisms use this range of light for energy.
Oxygenic photosynthesis is the process by which plants, algae, and cyanobacteria convert light energy, water, and carbon dioxide into oxygen and glucose. Oxygen production is a significant biosignature of life
Based on datas from Cassandra Hall’s research, some planets such as Kepler-452b, Kepler-1638b, Kepler-1544b, Kepler-62e and Kepler-62f are believed to be in the photosynthetic habitable zone.
